Gotta be kidding. X2 with the same processor as the X1?!?!?!?
Sigh.
And I was really looking forward to this phone.

There's not a great deal of difference between the X1 and X2 really. Check out the comparison. Compare phones - GSMArena.com
I'm still looking forward to it though, the thought of a slightly improved X1 with a kick-*** camera...

If you want something with a beefier processor, maybe you should be comparing the Omnia Pro and the X2 - link.

I'm still looking forward for X2. Maybe the processor is the same as in X1, but otherwise it has everything that X1 should have had. Also SonyEricsson is denying XDA-forum's info about X1's official WM6.5 upgrade, so one more reason to look forward for X2 (although why not to flash with "unofficial" ROM).

It is not how big it is that matters, it is more what you do with it.

Except that doesn't support the ATT US 3G quiet as well. Otherwise....
It just sucks. No one can make a new phone I want. I think I'd just as soon stick with the X1a and maybe do the upgrade to the new software. I'm certain that the XDA guys will get whatever is on the X2 running on the X1 - or maybe something better.
I just want faster, really. Faster GPS lock, faster camera loading, faster moving around.
And thanks for providing that info.

Another possibility then might be to wait for the next round of HTC devices - the 'Leo' (replacement for the Touch HD) is strongly rumoured to be using one of the 1GHz Snapdragon CPUs.
Ok, it isn't a Qwerty-slider handsets but, of late, HTC tend to produce the Pro variants of their handsets that are, so there could also be a 'Leo Pro' that would suit your needs.
Of course, given that Leo is still at the rumour stage, it'd be a long way away before a Pro version ever became available (assuming they do indeed make one) but, depending on how long you can hold off, it's certainly worth bearing in mind.

The rumours for the Leo are (almost) confirmed: the::unwired - REVEALED: Real HTC Leo Windows Mobile Smartphone in the wild
I fear however that the Leo will be available around the time SE will announce the X3 and then I will be really torn which one to buy

OK I was looking forward to the X2, but time for a rant:
It seems to me the X2 is just a cheaper version of the X1. It's plastic, instead of metal and so probably much cheaper to produce. It doesn't actually bring anything new to users.
I expect SE are only releasing this handset, so they can actually make a profit on it! Think PS3 Slim vs. the old PS3.
The X1 needed to be a premium design, to get media attention and let SE break into the premium WinMo Smartphone market. It was made by HTC, because SE had no experience in producing Winmo/Qualcom chipset smartphones (the P990/P1i really doesn't count in the same league).
Now SE have an established platform and brand, they want to make money be releasing a 'new' phone, which is cheaper to make.
Unfortunately it does not bring anything new to the table, what a disappointment!
OK rant over.
