Thread: Supposed Sony Ericsson Experia X2!!

This came in over on Engadget a little while ago and I was surprised i hadnt seen it posted here yet... take a couple of grains of salt and browse on over to the link... what do you think?? Legit? photoshopy?? Hmmmm only time and possible months or years will tell! ;-)

If it is legit, I would have hoped SE would have done away with the panel thing, I find them pretty pointless, ok, so the whole Xperia thing is to do with x and xpanels, but still...

Dosen't look very Sony Ericsson to me, if you know what i mean.

It looks rubbish as an X2. SE, do better if it's real.

Its not going to look like that. That lookds rediculous, more like Nokia styling to me. No detail in its design and doesnt look up-market enough. X series is targetted towards the higher end phones and this looks too cheap and no necessary unique design.

Therefore = fake in my honest opinion of course

I have a few people who used to be my staff members at Phones4u, who now work for SE... From what they know (and I could be hopelessly wrong or nail it on the head!) the x2 will be out in September...

SE are trying to get it right! Will run 6.1 to start or mayb 6.5...

5mp camera (yeh it's crap but oh well!) and that's pretty much it that they know...

One of them was viewing this site as a guest earlier and when I spoke to him about the Engadget article, he was like it doesn't look like that...

Here's the best bit of news: SE have no plans to scrap the Xperia range and there are 4 Xperia branded phones planned, all but 1 still at design stage (i.e. mock up pics as above...) so you never know (the one my mate has seen could be a later version don't know...!)

I read somewhere that they may use differnet OS's on each handset, so we could see a SE +Andriod unit very soon.

Just give me two speakers.....please! You could install two at the bottom, where the exsisting one speaker is. Move or get rid of the camera button (operate it via touchscreen?).

I would have thought that it was goiong to be released around march/april/may time.

I say this due to product cycle times plus most of us are on 18months contracts and we are the primes targets for the next phone.

This cycle is true for most phone products for instance the N95-96 and N95 8GB-N97 cycle times.

And what are those two holes/slits in the back? stereo speakers?

Not quite sure about the sticker that says "show off unit" rather than "demonstration unit" or similar?
