@Leica, (can't remember where - that picture is posted on like 8 different sites), but yep they're saying it has stereo speakers (with Dolby Mobile 5.1 or sumink) - believe the speakers, don't believe the dolby!

@norseman, yep I have a feeling we won't see this until end of 2009 or Q1 2010 as even customers who are couple of months off their upgrades and desperately want the x2 could probably persuade their carrier to let them upgrade earlier... I have a strong suspicion that, if you've bought an x1 and the x2 comes out on your carrier expect a phone call from your carrier!!!

@kbm, I think the one after the x5 will run android as SE said their first android phone would be running Android 2.0 which kinda fits the timeline of the Xperias? Then again, SE could just release the same device on three platforms! Who knows :|

@zpyder, I posed the same question to a SE rep I know and he said they don't have demonstration units until near the end of design stage - show-off units literally do that; show off the potential design of the phone, get everyone hyped about the handset (like the wait between announcement & release of X1 did) and allow SE to get feedback without officially announcing the device! (I'd be willing to bet at least one member on here works for SE gaining feedback on devices etc etc etc!)

Ok lets go by Leica's pics because the other pic looks like something out of Corel Draw 2.
I heard they were dropping WinMo as the OS but by the looks of it, there is a windows logo on the keyboard.
It looks bulkier and the bottom curves up? Awesome, an Xperia boat with lots of scratches on the bottom.

Fake in my opinion, or perhaps a prototype because that looks like it's made out of plastic and turd.

As and when the X2 is released it will prob be nothing like any of the pics floating around.
I have seen loads of different shapes and styles, some touchscreen only with no buttons,
some where the keypad slides downwards, some with slideout sideways like the current X1.
All these are prorotype pics and i would say unlikely to make it through to the final deign.

WmPoweruser.com has released some supposedly leaked specs of X2: Xperia X2 purported specs. Looks promising, if these are true.

These pics might as well be mule pics. That design itself looks downright awful compared to X1.

well it better come with a 5 line keyboard with arrows!!!

The 4 line is one of the biggies that made me get the X1 over the N96 as I'm working with my phone more and more.

Soon there will be a blurring of lines between smart phones and netbooks and I hope the x series will be the blurrer.

The best looking "X2" I saw was the rumour-pic that was going around before the X1 was even released. Now THAT should be the real X2


Those purported specs in the link above look suspicious. "Upgrade to WM7 is supported by panels". That doesn't make any technical sense at all. These specs may be someones wishlist...not real.
