    Default Comparing X10a to X1a

I was able to compare the X10a to the X1a Sony Ericsson - Products - Mobile phones and found some ?strange omissions. Perhaps they are oversights.

    1. Web browser: Does this mean that I cannot use Opera?
    2. No radio?
    3. USB mass storage?
    4. No Office?
    5. Wayfinder navigator?
    6. Modem?
    7. Instant messaging?
    8. Video calling?
    9. Document editor/reader?
    10. Flight mode?
    11. Tasks?
    12. Notes?

Not being fammiliar with Android, those items concerned me as I make use of them. Hope someone can offer me some advice and if these items are not usable, exactly why would I want this phone?

    1. As long as Opera runs on WinMo, no you can't. Maybe in the distant future there will be an android Opera. There's Chrome.
    2. As far as specs go, no.
    3. There's a microuUSB jack, should be a yes.
    4. There's something similar to WinMo Office on the android and an exchange program with your PC Office on the CD
    5. Google Maps with Nav is preinstalled, there are various other Programs in the adroid market (AndNav, TeleNav ...)
    6. With the right app, yes (Android Proxy)
    7. With the right app, yes
    8. Didn't see it in the specs, no second camera on the front
    9. Yes
    10. Yes
    11. Yes
    12. With the right app, yes.

To be honest, I'm falling in love with HTC HD2.

HTC have done a great job with tf3d, but sense, oh gosh it's amazing. With HTC you buy a phone with an excellent GUI/Package. I doubt the X10 will be offering such a GUI/package.

1 reason I'm being put off by the x1 lately.

I have just sent the HTC HD2 back.....
got very worried in the first few days that the battery wasnt up to the job....but once I reduced the playing time it did a day ok......
I quite liked it......and if the x10 hadnt been coming out I probably would have kept it......
didnt find anything wrong with it....just didnt find it very sparkling either.....
does everything ok........I was just a bit put off by its hanging...its desire to be permanently connected to vodafone and and that its was still basically running WM6.5.......
just get this feeling that its going to be behind from the start.....

    anyway....its gone back.....

    waiting for my x10 now....

my contract with Vodafone and the X1 runs out on Friday, the X10 doesn't come out from them till April. i don't know if i can wait that long. i'm seriously eyeing the N900 or maybe even an iphone.
I'm a bit concerned about the lack of Radio though. is it possible to download a program for that ?

Either models will still cost you the same $799.99 though. And there are still no words on whether the phone will be carried by any wireless carrier. Again, if you’ve been wanting to have this great Sony Ericsson phone, better start pre-ordering at Best Buy now, as I have a feeling that stocks of Xperia X1a for the US won’t be that much.
Defeat is not bitter unless you swallow it.
