    Default Complete BackUp Software

    Hi,

What is the best piece of software to use for a complete phone backup ? - Meaninh if I had to hard reset my phone and could bring it back to the state I had it before hard rebooting.

    Thanks

    Sonic

It depends on what you mean by complete back-up. If you restore the phone to exaclty how it was before the hard reset, then you're going to restore the reason you had to hard reset in the first place.

HTC make a back-up tool, called Back-Up, which has an option to back-up and restore "everything".

    Cheers
Many hours playing around, and now it's all great.

    Hi there,

As others have mentioned there are many different types of backup programs out there. If you'd like to backup your phone data (e.g. contacts, tasks, appointments, messages, etc.) PIM backup 2.8 is the program for you, easy to use, customise and free . Get it from here:

    Dotfred's Space

As always I've test everything I recommend and it works well for me, you can even download a .pdf manual, if you require instructions.

    Hope this helps?
    Chris

    Regards,
    Chris

BTW - you can even schedule when you would like your backup to run, and if your phone is in stand-by mode, it'll wake it up and still backup at said time, pretty cool in my opinion.

I have always used spb backup, don't know if it is the best but works for me.
I always back up my contacts and texts with PIM as well just to make sure.
The best time to do a back up is just after you have hard reset and installed your apps
as then in the future you will have a clean back up and won't have to re install everything
    again.
Also make sure you dont restore an old back up to an updated rom as it can make things
    go all squirly.

I used sbp backup, too, and I was satisfied with it. A good software to backup contacts and messages from you phone. For a bigger amount of data I use mainly backup services like these or freeware. There are many websites that offer free storage space up to 50GB or more, they're ideal for storing data online. The good thing is you have always access to the data, you just have to login in to your account.
