Or install Settings+ (which I linked to in the other thread about this) which allows you to change quite a few settings as well as the threaded sms.

i quite like the conversations means you dont have to go searching for wha u said in the first place when u get a random reply days later.
i do have a niggle tho' delivery reports, for some reason mine wont stay on you need to check the box every time before you send a message rather annoying coz 9 out of 10 times i forget til its been sent...
I absolutely hate this conversation text biz....i will look into adding the appz...like others i am a little scared to mess with things...but it seems to work ok.
I can also take off that do not show sim contacts thingy too.
The above are the two most annoying things about the phone.
Hi,
I'm pretty new to the Xperia, but quite like the text conversation format of WM.
My question is, is there any way to increase the size of the portion of the screen devoted to the text you're actually writing and decrease the portion for old texts?
I hate having to scroll up and down the text message I'm actually writing!
Perhaps there's a registry registry setting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nick
I do like the threaded SMS feature, as it's more tidy than lots of individual messages, but I agree with nickldn - it'd be great to somehow make the text bigger
You can always open the .CAB file with iwinrar (or winzip maybe) and check out the .XML file to be sure.
But that only works if kinda know what your doing.
And i checked that file and it did what it supposed to do.
Just the 2 registry modifications. so its safe.
But a question tho, is used the .CAB to get rid of that stupid threading thing (luckily there are people who like it) but the message did not change or is it only for new messages?
Thanks for helping in any way!![]()
I've found out how to change the amount of space available to write text messages. The answer was on geekedout.se, so I can't take any credit for it myself:
Launch Total Commander. If you don't have this file manager installed, you can get it here: Total Commander - PocketPC. It's free.
Browse to the Windows folder
Find and select the file: thread_sms.htm
Tap on the little Notebook icon in the bottom toolbar of Total Commander to open it
Locate this line of code: < Inbox:content id="COMPOSESUBJECT" width="98%" height=35 spell focus count links noclearonbackpresshold limit=0 autocap inserttab scroll />
Replace the original height parameter "35" with "85", for example.
Press save and do a softreset (restart your phone). Voilą!
Alternatively, you could connect your phone to a PC with ActiveSync, copy the file to your computer and edit it there with Notepad. Just make sure you have Explorer showing hidden/system files. You might have to overwrite the original file with Total Commander (or Resco Explorer, my favorite) since it is part of the ROM and therefore protected by the system. You can also download my already modified version of thread_sms.htm here.
