Thread: Using a UK/O2 Xperia with a US payg sim?

I'm off to California on Thursday. Ideally, I want to swap straight away for a US pay-as-you-go style sim card. Is this possible with the xperia? I've flashed it so it now has the generic rom, if that makes a difference.

Hi leyupab,

As long as your phone is UNLOCKED (flashing with generic rom doesnt unlock the phone - best way to test is put a different network UK sim in and as long as works and can make n receive calls/sms's it is unlocked) then it will work fine!!
