One of the best reviewers responding some questions before his Xperia review next week.
1. I have hbh ds980. I want to know whether you can control your tracks in media panel with bluetooth stereo. And can you use voice command in the media panel.
Bengal Boy: Yes, you can control tracks with a bluetooth headset when using the S.E.X1's media panel which is a "Media Player" application of Sony Ericsson's design. As for the Car start question,,, my X1i bluetooth profile menu is the most complete I've ever seen on a Windows Mobile Device. Thank you Sony Ericsson for putting your bluetooth stack on the S.E.X1!! Super Sexy!!
Check the photo of the S.E.X1's bluetooth profile's supported I posted. **picture** This is SE's on bluetooth stack used on the device and it makes the X1i the most bluetooth friendly and best performing Windows Mobile Device I've used. Range with the Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR (Extended Data Rate) stack and a SE headset such as the DS-980 or 435a results in extended range and high voice quality.
Performance with MicroSofts Voice Command 1.6 for Mobile Professional devices is superb with voice dialing from a headset working flawlessly.
Bluetooth performance on a S.E.X1 will be the best available with current technology.
2. What are the various background colours in the sony ericsson panel and media panel?
Bengal Boy: Each "panel" has its on settings. Background color on some panels can be changed in the settings menu of that application, however, the media player does not offer that option. It does allow you to change background "animation" from floating "reeds", "squares". "icons" or "none". Otherwise the player is a light blue color.
3 Did you try the spb shell panel? If not goto SE's wap site and change location to UK and download it. Can you tell me how is it different from the normal spb shell 2.1.
Bengal Boy: 3. SE's website will not allow you to download content for the X1i that is not specifically for it. Currently, there are keys activated in the browser specifically for downloading media content for the X1i, new "panels", support, etc... looks like SE will be providing specific content for the X1i that is carefully controlled by the site.
4 Did you try manila 2d on xperia? Its available on xda-developers site and looks very promising.
Bengal Boy: No.
5 Does your phone have stereo speakers? In some recent reviews, i've seen only one speaker
Bengal Boy: Yes, it has stereo speakers. That hardware is the same from the prior prototypes.
6 Can you provide some videos taken with the latest ROM?
Bengal Boy: 6. I am going to Fantasy Fest in Key West, Florida and intend to take alot of video and photos with the S.E.X1 for the site. Stay Tuned!!
7 What is the file transfer speed via usb connection?
Bengal Boy: 7. It is a USB 2.0 device and file transfer speeds are consistent with that USB standard when used with a computer that supports USB 2.0 external devices. I suppose a 20mb/sec or maybe better rate. Some software that could accurately test it would be required and I'm not sure what that would be?
