    Default Problems with hard reset

    Hi

I have a problem hard reseting my Xperia.

When the screen goes white with blue letters it says press R to hard reset. When I press R nothing happens. From here the only thing I can do to turn it off is to take out te battery.

    Can anybody help?

You could hard reset the software way...instead of holding and pushing buttons...

Go to Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage

This is also a hard reset and will revert your phone to the same way it was when you first got it, provided you have not installed any rom...if you installed a rom, it will revert to the same way when you first started your phone after you installed the rom....

Aslo note that if you do a hard reset it is strongly advisable to clear you memory card as it may contain system files which may try to load upon the startup of your phone after the hard reset and may cause errors.

These files are usually hidden/system files, so make sure you have enabled "see hidden files".

Also finally....REMEMBER to BACKUP anything you want to keep

Thanks BioVolt. I actually figured it out yesterday. I followed your guide on how to make the Xperia faster and it seems to work :-)

At least the benchmark test looks faster. Thanks for all your great work.

Two questions - a little off topic :-)

    1. I installed Touch Flo as a panel after installing everything you suggested. The way I understood it is that by installing full manila Touch Flo will not operate as a panel. So I installed that afterwards. When it is running I am using 42% of my CPU. This seems like a lot. Is there any way to fix this?

    2. Do you know of a good scandinavian soft keyboard? I tried the one in the second post from this page

    [CAB][Nov 13]Touch-HD cabs here. >>Now with full manila HD cab<< - xda-developers

It doesnt seem to work though. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi

I actually found out about the clear storage solution by playing around with the phone my self.

I used your guide to make the phone run smoother. It actually seems to work. The benchmark test also looks faster. Thanks a lot :-)

One question though. How much CPU usage do you usually have? Mine is often around 40-44%. It seems like a lot. I guess this also drains the battery fast.

When I just got the phone CPU usage was usually around 30% when I wasn't really doing anything with it.

On today screen I have 30-35% (Note i dont have anything like battery monitors or other apps that are permanently running and doing things in background)

If i have any open apps and things I am running on 40%+

With the Manilla (TouchFlo panel) i have 37%-45%)

I would look at all the processes which are running and see which one is not needed or is running without you even knowing that it is...

I would suggest using this task manager >>

    http://mobilitysite.com/2008/06/fdcs...to-version-31/

If you want alot more info about tasks/processes/cpu utilization.

well I have around the same percentages. So I guess it is all good :-)

another question has come up though. after clearing my storage and reinstalling everything I am unable to play any videos. even the bond trailer and camera videos wont play in media player.

Any suggestions? Sorry that I keep asking you, but you do seem to have the answers :-)
