Thread: Application Installation

How? Pc is running XP...I have downloaded the panels from this site to a folder on my pc, how do I then get that panel or appication onto the x1? I may be missing something quite simple! or missing the installation procedure all together!

I presume it's a .cab file?

If so connect the phone to the pc using the usb cable & drag and drop the file somewhere onto the phone.

Then on the phone find the file with file manager & select it & it should run & install.

OR

You can use the CABviaActiveSync application that Paul created years ago over at MoDaCo to install cab's from your pc providing the phone is connected.

Edit: I obviously presume you have active sync installed (windows mobile device centre on vista)

A copy of activsync came in the box, install that.

Thx Guys...The problem was with the self exractor I was using (Winrar) which appears to change the file extension. Quick install of WinZip has cured this problem.

So Winrar is not the right program for self extraction? I don't see a set-up file after extracting other than one call "_setup.XML"
