Does anybody know if the Xperia X1 is compatable with Skype (not Skype mobile which uses a local rate phone number to access the skype system). If anybody has experiance using skype on the X1 i'd like to knwo what they think of it and if its any good.

For those that are unsure (and I was when I tried to install), you must select the .cab file download for advanced users is using your phone and it needs to be the Pocket PC version. The .exe is for installation on the PC ready for syncing the files over. Don't worry about being an advanced user as the .cab file will install automatically when you run it...easier than a .exe on a PC in-fact!

tried that, but seems not working welll... however i found out there is a Pocket pc version of ISKOOT that u can actually install on X1, i am on vodafone, using n73 before, and iskoot worked perfect on that, and on x1, it appears cannot connect when i use GPRS no idea why, but when i use wifi, it can be logged in. I will try again... and hope it work out. (my n73 had same problem before, but magically sorted)

If you can't install the .cab on you phone and you can't install the .exe and then sync your phone then you must be doing something drastically wrong.

Hi Everyone,
I'm having the same problem as Topcatsss. My phone will place and receive calls just fine with Skype, but I can only hear whoever I'm talking to through the speakerphone and not the earpiece. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

oops, I just found the answer to my own question. Apparently, Skype does not play nice with Windows Mobile devices and most WM devices will play over the loudspeaker and not the earpiece.
I found this rather informative and I guess I'll stop searching for the work around, but thought I'd share with everyone here in case they run into this problem as well:
