Default Xperia X1 on Ebay -Avoid!

I have came across a few thread at other forums of users claiming they attempted/contemplating purchasing the X1 on ebay. Don't! (for the time being)

At this point the phone is not available from reliable retailers, so I would be extremely cautious from purchasing from someone with no/little feedback.

I wouldn't recommend risking a purchase on eBay for a popular new device anyway...it is so easy to get caught out! I guess if you want to avoid any trouble, buy sim free, save your pocket money, ask for an early Christmas, ask for a halloween present, ooooh, something!

Unless they have like over 10000 feedback I wouldn't even bother thinking of getting an X1 on ebay

Powersellers and others with high feedback are often worse. they often sell fake goods or are based in Hong Kong and lie about being in the UK.

Ebay is notorious for fake mobiles. The N95 was one of the worst I have ever seen, with the visual differences between the real mobiles and clones looking nearly identical to the average consumer.

if it looks that good, it can be true - We researched some of these companis and found out they have a shareholder capital of 100 BP and the shareholders are from somewhere (we are lawyers) In a few days we will get our X1 and still waiting, what do you think why? To be safe and not sorry.

    Hi all,

Well sorry but i find some of your opinions and assertions frankly insulting as firstly i have a 100% positive record with 187 feedbacks. All my buyers and myself are covered by the PayPal guarantee and i have both bought and sold many high value items from E-Bay and not everyone on E-Bay is a scammer.

Obviously if something looks to good to be true it usually is just exercise due diligence and really there is nothing wrong with E-Bay don't tar all with the same brush because of few bad people.

Oh yes and i sold my less then 24hr old X1 on E-Bay for £500 plus postage so it served me very well indeed. Actually due to the deal i got on my X1 for a change i actually made a profit on a phone not something i normally do, but then they usually last longer than 24hrs with me.

This thread is over 2 months old, and it clearly stated at the time of the first post that the phone isn't even available at retailers; hence why the caution was issued. At the time of the post, several fakes and illegitimate sales were taking place on ebay.

At this point the phone is not available from reliable retailers, so I would be extremely cautious from purchasing from someone with no/little feedback.

    X1guy,

What do you think mate? Some people just jump into a thread and start arguing and jumping in all guns blazing without bothering to check the actual post time stamp - they automatically assume that it's very recent!!
