1st, SE said 9/30/2008, we waited that date for nothing!
now stores is saying this Friday 10/10/2008.
i dont want to wait til this friday for nothing too!
if X1 is not out this friday!
i going to give up and get HTC touch diamond pro!

Patience my friend. I totally know where you are coming from as mine is on pre-order too!
I have had a touch diamond for about 3 months now and although the touch3d is nice I personally find it limited and you can not customise it.
Wait for the Xperia as I believe with the panels approach you can reinvent your phone all the time, now with SPB Shell panel I am very excited.
I think we will see them shipping to end users early next week.

I too feel your pain...

The 30th of Sept was a very deceptive date and a bad marketing ploy. SE should have been upfront from the start and said something on the lines of..

"30th Sept will be the date that we are shipping the first batchs of the X1 from our warehouses in Asia, We expect them to reach the telecom companies in the UK and have them sell the X1 around the 10th of October"

By doing this, yes there would have been some who went off and get HTC TDP but then at least the rest of us would know for sure and not get really frustrated and peed off and another set of delays and at least know that we should be able to buy it on the 10th.

I'm getting mine from Vodafone and reckon it will be atleast the 13th before I get to be able to order it since there is a co-branding area on the back that they will want to play with, wont get the **** thing until the 16th at the earliest.

just got a email from clove.co.uk
"Thank you again for your order. We apologise for the delay but we are currently awaiting a shipment of the Xperia X1 Machines which we expect to receive Monday 13th October. Payment will only be deducted when stock is available and your goods will then be despatched immediately, subject to security checks."

unbelieable!
waited for 9/30/2008 for nothing!
then they say 10/10/2008
now just got email 10/13/2008.
will 10/13/2008 be a disappointment date too? waited for that date for nothing too?
sometime enought is enought!
going to end all this disppoinment next monday if i dont get it!
i just going to get htc touch diamond pro!

Dont give up dude...we all have waited this long. Its just one more week. My order was delay exactly like how yours were. So its happening to most of us. Hang in there. If you order the HTC diamond pro tdy heck it would take a few days to be shipped to you anyway. May as well wait for the X1. Just my 2 cents....

@ netboy I'm with LCRKZ0023 on this one, I don't think there is anything wrong with the HTC TDP as per se, it is my joint 2nd choice with the N96, but we have come to far to go back now.

We are all in the same boat and all frustrated, I have wound everybody I know up with the phone and they keep laughing at me now because I still haven't got it.

Don't get me wrong I am not lying down and taking it, I am annoyed with the SE with the way they marketed the phone but then the Johnny-x thing made me think about the real release date, 9 episodes over a 3 week period which ends this friday why? because that is the earliest date they realistically thought we would get them and johnny was used just to subdue us (just so happens to be the 10/10) add in a few days of faffing about (to get the phone from ship to warehouse to distribution + a rebox and rebrand) and we should get our hand on it somewhere between the 13-18th of Oct.

Our problem is that we all joined the hype wagon, for our own reasons we all love the phone before we have even touched it, we have overbuilt our expectations and just can't wait to get our hands on it.

On a separate note, this will cause our own problems as well, can the X1 really live up to what we have come to expect? I think many of us in this forum will be really disapointed because we want it to be something it is not, and will rant and rave about how bad SE has let us down.

I think SE biggest mistake was to showcase the X1 in Feb when it was not ready, if they had done it in May they would have had more realistic release dates and a lot more happy people waiting for the phone.

i just worry i waited til end of next week, 10/17/2008 FOR NOTHING AGAIN!
new release date 11/1/2008!
when 11/1/2008 comes, new date 11/23/2008!
the problem is SE keep lying about releases date!

"You recently contacted us on the Sony XPERIA X1 and we wanted to keep you posted on the latest updates.
We now have pricing and our first shipment is expected late next week"

and clove.co.uk said 10/13/2008.

when is this freaking delay ever going to end!

will we get new date 12/1/2008 next week??
