Default Using Blackberry charger to charge Xperia?
Does anyone know whether using a Blackberry charger to charge the Xperia will damage the battery? I’ve plugged it in and it seems to be charging. The power rating on the Xperia Charger is 5V 0.7A and the Blackberry Charger is 5V 0.5A. I’ve left my Xperia charger at home!

@SamIrvs

When i got my X1 i left all the accessories unopened in the box and used my BB Bold charger and sync cable with no ill effect. Mind you i did only keep it for 23hrs though but it should be fine both have 1500aMh Li-Polymer batteries so there shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I spose they both can be charged using the USB port which is 5V 0.5A. Only 23 hours?? Did it annoy you that much?

The ratings are only the max draw it will allow, so using a device that has a lower ampage will just mean it takes longer, it should not do any damage.

Why did you chose the Bold over the Xperia?

Hi all,

I have stated the reasons why the X1 and WM was just not right for me elsewhere on the forum and i had the Bold for a couple of months already before i got the X1.

There were some great positives of the X1 the first was the build quality on mine which really was very very good. I also found it was an excellent Music and Video Player and was more than happy with how it handled these. I also found it was quite fast to the only real lag was when the panels refreshed from the static image but even that wasn't terrible IMO.

But the things i didn't like and that annoyed me really annoyed me and where deal breakers the first was although it has a nice wide screen it is not very deep. The second was text size in all but the main views even after i had chosen the largest size. Again Opera once zoomed in to a reasonable size displayed far to little information due to the above mentioned screen size problem. I also didn't like how certain apps used certain connections either despite what i wanted. I know some of these issues now have tweaks and fixes but they didn't when i decided to sell and to be honest having to do so much straight out the box just to get it working well did less then inspire confidence. I also really didn't like the Keyboard i felt the keys were to small and lacked enough tactile feedback it also didn't always light up or turned off during use. Really i decided that WM and the X1 just wasn't right for me and what i wanted and expected but that doesn't mean it can't be for anyone else.

Also because i had one of the first released X1's from VodaFone and got it for £49.99 on a £20pm 18 month contract with the Internet for and extra £4.99. When i sold it for £500 on E-Bay and cancelled the Internet pack i made about £45 plus i still have the Voda minutes and am paying them back just £20pm which means a nice free loan for me.

I agree that the text is too small, but this may get sorted with a firmware release.

Also, a new version on Opera mobile has a sliding zoom feature which will be great.

@SonicBoom

Fair enough many things may get fixed either by tweaks from users and developers or even SE but in just how long? There was no way i was going to put up with it awaiting fixes that may or may not arrive on a £500 smart phone. Now if you or anyone else are happy to gamble and wait fair enough it's your money your device and your choice but i just wasn't.

I don't have many issues with the phone at all.

However, I don't like the recessed screen, the smaller screen size the fact that it is a little slow at times.
