Memory card

Hi,

Got my hands on an x1 today. Sounds like a simple question but it requires a SD card. Anybody point me in the right direction as to what one looks like as i thought the one i have would of fit with it being sandisk but it doesnt. Just dont want to be going and buying the wrong one!

Cheers
Nikki

Make sure you have a hd-adapter, like a micro card reader. Otherwise you have no chance to load stuff directly from your computer to the card.

There are some micro sd cards which come with a card reader.

The Xperia X1 can act as a card reader itself. In regular mode (i.e the one used with ActiveSync) transfers are a bit slow, but there is a setting in Start -> Settings -> Connections -> USB To PC, called Disk Drive that should basically make the X1 show up as a card reader in Windows and transfer files at a decent speed.

I wish the memory card slot was easier to access than having to remove the battery cover every time, but it's only a minor gripe really.

or you can install a free app called WM5torage which when active makes the memory card appear as a usb drive to the pc and the speeds are excellent.

Has anyone tried the Transcend SDHC 16GB card class 6? Whereas Sandisk only has the 16GB one in class 2. Also it is around GBP20 at Amazon so not a bad price compared to double for Sandisk.

Erum: Got a link? I can only see SDHC cards from Transcend on Amazon, no MicroSDHC ones.

Edit: Scratch that, I found the product page on Amazon. It seems weird since the picture is not of the actual card and the Transcend site doesn't list a 16GB MicroSDHC in Class 6.
