Default How to lock device
First of all, excuse me if I'm going to say something stupid. I come from a SE P990i (and P800 and P910i first) and I'm totally new to WM.

In the P990i there were two security options:
1: code to be entered each time the phone was turned on; in this case the phone could not be used when stolen, unless it was never turned off...
2: code to be entered to access the SIM.

I can, of course, enable the 2nd option, but where's the first one ?

The only security option I found is to lock the phone after X-minutes of inactivity.

Many thanks in advance
SS

Hi Sandrio

I also come from the se p900 series so I'm still new to this phone and I was unable to find the function your after. The only locking function I could find (besides keypad lock, hold down the cancel call button) was the one under settings. As you've said this both works as an inactivity lock, locking after a set time and also for when the device is switched on, so it's a combined locking function, I'm not aware of a seperate locking option for this phone.

Hope this helps,
Regards, daddy_e

Try "Settings", "Today", "Items" and "Device Lock".

This adds a lock option on the WinMo6 homescreen / panel.

This can be moved up tp top for quick access.

If, like me, all you're after 95% of the time is to stop accidental input when in pocket etc.
Just press the power button until screen blanks, if you've deselected wake up on screen/key press, then this will stop accidentally phoning someone etc.
To turn either press power button or slide open.

cheers

ps. first post here, nice forum, good advice, like the RSS direct onto X1!

You can also press and hold the Hang-up/Lock button, next to the OK button, that will put activate the key and screen lock.

Pressing the power button (press and release) switches off the backlight completely, and is a great power saving tip.
