Poor photo image quality?

Hi all, I'm not sure if anyone has posted this issue before, but it's really starting to annoy me!
Every time I take a picture it's really fuzzy! I can't seem to take a decent picture as its always blurred.
Is this a problem anyone else is having, or is it just me? I've not had this problem with other camera phones, so I don't think it's my shaky hands?!? lol

Try taking picture with phone resting on something, see if that makes a difference . I have noticed that camera is very sensitive to camera shake, far more than my N95 is

yes this helps a bit, but its not always possible, I like to take pictures when i'm out with friends as keepsakes and I prefur the photos to look natural, so finding a ledge or steady suface to use makes everything more unnatural.

breath in, hold breath. Lock arms to your sides and press (slight variation on dslr shooting)

i've noticed that the time between pressing the button and when the x1 actually captures the image and plays a sound are all out-of-synch. sometimes i would press the button, hear the camera sound and the picture actually wouldn't be taken for another second or two. so i highly recommend holding the phone steady until you see the preview picture on the screen.

oh, also, the camera doesn't work well in low-light or dark situations. it works brilliantly during daytime though. just slow (which would explain your blurry pictures).

I highly recomend changing the camera setting to sport mode (icon of a running man) and leaving this as the default setting. It is the only genuinly usuable setting for normal indoor usage. OK it is slightly more grainy than portrait or automatic but the faster shutter speed means you will get no camera blur.

In N95, you can get instant capture(sport mode quality) if you click the camera button really fast without focus first

donno if xperia can do this?

are you pressing the button halfway and waiting for it to auto focus and then press the button all the way why you get the green square?
might sound silly but someone else wasnt waiting and that was causing their problems

I would second the sport setting suggestion... anything else and you get pure blur...

To be honest just makes me get more use out of my proper camera and stops me being so bloody lazy... after all need spend over £200 on my Finpix and should get some more use out of 'what has been designed as a camera'.... wouldn't be great if they some day designed a camera that had an 'ok' phone into a great camera instead of the other way round.... just a thought..

I hardly ever use a phone camera. I don't feel like I am taking a real picture until I use a proper camera. Not to mention I am too spoiled by my SX10 with the 20X Zoom an flip out LCD and great picture quality. Ok not as convenient to carry around as the phone but well worth the results.

I do wish Xperia had IS, though. I have noticed that the slightest of shakes, which does happen when pressing the not so easy to press button, blurs the pic.
