Thumbs down Sound Quality Disapointing
Hi all,

After playing about with my new X1 for what seems like 2 days solid I am slowly getting used to it, however after syncing it to my laptop and transferring a few of my fave tunes I was sadly disapointed with the sound quality produced.

My other phone a K810i was fantastic when it came to playing music, the sound, although produced from 1 speaker at the back, seemed stereo quality.

Yet the sound coming out of the X1 (side speaker) was tinny and almost to quiet!

I know the best way to appreciate the sound is through the headphones, but occationally I do like to listen through the phone speakers, and all I can say is I'm not impressed.

SCBOND: there are numerous reasons why people use the external speaker to play sounds (music, film trailers ect) so why automatically "brand" someone you dont know.. why not put the used energy into actually providing usefull info.

Tiny: i was too supprised about the speaker on the X1. after having a range of SE phones i think this one has the worst speaker. i can only imagine that because it would be classed as more "business" use, then they prob didant see the need to make the speaker better. how ever in a high end phone such as this i dont think there can be any excuse. maybe its to do with the bitrate of the music files aswell (however im not to sure on the ideal bitrate to use) i just know that some smart phones are fussy over it.

Sound quality findings:

- 3G on, WMA music via the WM Media Player, result average or lower then average
- 3G on, mP3 format via SE's media player, great sound reproduction
- 3G off, WMA or SE's own player, sound reproduction even better

A2DP not as good as Nokia E90

I can't see how 3g would make a difference to sound output through headphones?

Me too, but perhaps he means streaming over the web?.. But also this doesn't make sense to me, because streaming over non-3g is for me almost impossible..:s anyway, I'm interested too in this discussion, because I have also ue superfi 5pro and wanna good sound quality^^ but I don't care about the speakers, only the sound on the 3.5mm jack so, please, test it!! greez, cad^^

It was useful information, I'm trying to prevent you from becoming the bottom of the social classes. The guy before me said use headphones.
