Can you supply a link? I can't seem to find it on 02 website. I have only found it on Vodafone's website and no other carriers.

Rang O2 UK today and they stated that it will be available to buy from 13/12/08.

price is £407 plus VAT sim free.

I just rang O2 since a was eligible for an upgrade, asked them about when there releasing the xperia x1 and was given the date 3/11/08. But i suspect somthing fishy since i was getting pushed onto a simplicity tariff until then, which is a 30 days contract and being around 30 days away from the supposed release date i declined. They couldnt guarantee to give me back the £10 discount line rental if i wanted to go back to a 12 month contract. So just have to wait until then to see what happens...

Rang O2 now and they have said they have no information available on the release date or price of the X1 in the UK. I had already emailed them about two weeks ago to ask if they were releasing it and they couldn't comment.

Anybody that has been given a price or date has been given incorrect information as all the O2 customer advisors have not been given any information regarding the phone. For the second time by O2 I have been told that if any information is released it will be done so on their website, Latest Mobile Phones from O2. As you can see, it is not there yet and they have only just released the SE C902 the other day. We could be looking at between the end of October and the end of November, in which case I will go with a different phone or go elsewhere.

Kasa, what I do is buy the handset sim free and keep on your simplicty tarrif usually works out cheaper in the long run
howevfer as soon as i get the x1 i will up my simplicty tarrif from £15 per month to £20 per month as there website has a better deal for the £20.

The X1 is now available for free on a £45 a month, 18 month contract with O2 through Carphone Warehouse.

Seems like a decent enough deal but not for me, I don't like 18 month contracts, even if the phone is gotten rid-of in another 12 months time (would seem crazy with this phone). Also, O2 no longer offer 12 month contracts so I'm sticking to mine like glue as there's no going back! Luckily they can be haggled!
