    Default No signal on O2

    Hello,

After waiting months and then finally getting my hands on the Xperia yesterday, I am now a bit stuck.

I ordered from mobiles.co.uk the O2 £30 per month for 24 months tariff, before ordering I had checked with the O2 coverage map to ensure I would have coverage.

However it seems as if I don't have coverage, the only networks the phone picks up are Vodafone, T-mobile and Orange. All of which work perfectly with 100% signal strength on other peoples mobiles in the area.

I drove about 4 miles down the road and the signal strength bursts into life.

I am now stuffed with a £30 per month contract that I cannot use!

Any ideas on the best way of preceding?

    Default cooling off period

    hi there,

if you are not satisfied with the contract that you have purchased you can get out of it within the first 14 days!! this is beacuse legally you are intiled to a "cooling off period" so if you telephone mobiles.co.uk they legally have to allow you to cancell the contract within the first 14 day period. i myself maybe cancelling my contract i have jst taken wiv vodafone as the signal where i live is awful where as O2 is brilliant!!! hope this helps

I hope that14 day return is still valid, I thought the cooling off period expired as soon as you used your SIM card. You don't wanna swap do you, lol.

I just hope that mobiles.co.uk will let me swap to an Orange contract without me having to give the phone back!

Thought I'd let everyone know that mobiles.co.uk have agreed to cancel the order, so now I'm in the market for a decent contract on either T-mobile or Orange, the idea of Vodafone branding scares me to the core.

It wont be long before a app is developed to remove the voda branding.

Hi hairymammal, hope I can help a bit!!!

Under distance selling regulations you have the right to return the phone within 7 days, however a lot of companies allow you to cancel within 14 days! But, and this is my personal experience, cancellation of contracts taken through CPW owned companies are hard to say the least! Call mobiles.co.uk and keep calling until they give you the returns address!! Make sure you send special delivery though if it comes down to it, threaten to take them to court for not allowing you to cancel!!

let me know what they say and i'll try and help you out if i can :cool
Hit the green if I've helped you!
