    Angry Warning Rant Follows - Avoid "3 Mobile"

    Hi Guys

    Just got off the phone to 3 disconnections. I have 6 months to run on my 3 Contract, but the service has been so bad I just want out. I have a very nice mobile number (I would say gold or platinum originally from voda about 5 yrs ago) which I need to keep so my goal was to disconnect as cheaply as possible & get a PAC code.

    At the moment I am still fuming so really this is just a way for me to vent my anger, in the space of an hour they managed to terminate my call (Twice & on purpose I feel) just as I had been given a price for disconnecting (£89). Which was less than I expected so obviously I was eager to get the deal done. I then rang back a third time (each time having to go through 10mins of button punching to get the right dept) got all the same spiel (gets very boring after the 3rd attempt). I tried to cut them short as they went through it but no chance.

    Eventually I got to the final stage (having explained it all yet again) now this guy was a serious piece of work, he just kept going & going & going. 40mins total. After every line I would say, "Please just disconnect me & provide my PAC code" & yes he still kept going. I really didn't think he would ever give up. Then he drops the bomb shell that they miscalculated the termination amount & its not £144! I then started to go to town on him, but to be honest I knew that this was the correct amount & I was getting bored :-) But even after agreeing the amount he still refused to process the disconnection.

    But & here’s the tip....

    They will say something like "I can't believe you are willing to pay £144 just to terminate why not keep the contract going it’s the same price" (Duh because It doesn’t work & I will have a gazillion minutes with O2)

    Just respond with "Well I have loadsa money so £144 is nothing to me"

    The phone when silent (thought I was cut off again) & he said the PAC code is on its way. In fact he hadn't even said goodbye & the text with the code arrived.

    Now some of you may be thinking, I'm nuts, but I really want a new contract with O2 & the XPERIA X1 (my kids get free calls to o2 numbers so another reason) but my main reason no is that I simply do not take kindly to the bully boy tatics I have just been subjected to. I have read lots on the tinternet about how bad “3” are & all I can say is its true. I think I will follow up my disconnection with a letter to confirm.

    So guys & girls, if you are considering 3 as your provider, please think again. tarffis are OK & Data with them is or was a good price but what use is it if you can't use it 90% of the time!

    Rant over & sorry for the long post just need to vent my anger

    You are right. Everything is fine on 3...until you have to speak to them. Even when you leave them they hound you. They even offered me a 5 pound per month contract, i told them to take the hint!

    Well that is a better way of venting anger than smashing the phone up the wall.

    I can say that I've done that many times lol! I've always steered well clear of Three and I always will...no decent contract deals and old phones, great!

    been on Three for two and half years...best mobile provider ive had so far and i think ive been with them all now. O2 where complete %$&£$(£'s lol. orange where ok but Three where the cheapest and had the best contract. just got my X1 today so hoping everything works with it...
